Here are the best Christmas 2019 events happening throughout metro Phoenix

You don't have to go over the river and through the woods to have a happy holiday season. Dozens of events all around metro Phoenix will add a little glow for your family and friends.

Feeling active? Try ice skating or a 5K, 12K or half-marathon race. If you like your holiday glittery, there are parades and lights displays galore. Adults can toast Christmas during a pub crawl.

A few places are offering "snow days" where kids can play in the white stuff. Just don't forget their mittens!

Some events are one weekend only; others last into January. So fill up your holiday calendar with some of these memory-making activities.

Phoenix

CitySkate at CityScape in downtown Phoenix is an annual holiday tradition, running through Jan. 7.
